But it can mean even more to someone who has been forced to flee their home because of war and violence. Let them know that they’re not alone. Abdousalam Jallow.
Born in Serekunda, Gambia. Has also lived in Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, and now in the Netherlands.
After being rejected by the IND, Salam has lived on Amsterdam's streets and in a squatted garage, together with 90 other undocumented people; he has slept in different night shelters, stayed in day shelters, and now lives in a safe house with a befriended family.
